Ocean Optics Typographic Book

I am fascinated with the way light moves through water and
how this can lead to broader scientific studies such as the study of ocean color and underwater satellite imaging. This book was designed while I was learning about typographic layout page structure for books and publications. I experimented with many layouts, and ended up using a more traditional layout and a serif-font as I wanted the book to feel light-weight and easy to read and flow through. I experimented with a variety of materials to be used for this book, and ended up using clear acetate for some pages to have light flow through those pages like light does through water. I used photo paper for other pages to have a high-shine and glossy look to emulate the light relfecting on the ocean. I used a low gloss paper for the majority of the pages.
