For this project, I wanted to make a geometric flower vase, as vases are usually more organically shaped. I put plastic tubes in the vase to hold flowers. I made the vase dynamic so that it looks different when viewed at every angle. I then painted the outside to resemble a garden.
After we had made our plaster sculpture, we had to draw Orthographic drawings (on the left) and Plan Oblique drawings (on the right) of our sculptures. This took precise measurements and drawings of what was there rather than what I thought I saw.
To do this project, I made a mold out of foam core, which I made by folding a paper into a geometric form and then using foam core to replicate each piece. I then filled the mold with casting plaster with the plastic tubes set in place, let it dry, and then de-molded it. I then cut the plastic tubes and sanded the vase to get crisper edges. Lastly, I painted and decorated the vase.
